As gastroenterologists we have seen this trend the last five years. All physicians need to be aware of this reality, and quickly refer patients to a gastroenterologist with any concerning symptoms. Colon cancer can be cured if it is caught early at any age. Colon cancer is rising in young Americans. It’s not clear why.
The disease is striking young people who have no obvious risk factors.
